The star of this handmade, woven beauty is obviously the delicious fabrics. So let's start there. Composed of a mix of some bartered and bought fabrics from Rosebud Botanical Goods, all organically dyed with love by the one and only, mother to many, Auntie Sherilyn. To visit her and her ventures over in California, US check out https://www.rosebud.is/
This original work of modern fiber art is rooted in family. Fabrics cut from the same cloth, a technique of processing fabrics my grandmother taught me as a young girl, and dyed using fruits from the same tree. A salutation to the cyclical nature within and around us. A reminder that no act is too small.
DRIED HYDRANGEA is packed with rumpled, organic textures. All of the fabric used within the artwork of ToolBoxEarth is process in my home studio located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. It allows for play and curiosity to reign as shown in full display within this one of a kind piece of wall art.
