A cloak of anti-establishment community. A reminder to go inward and to not be daunted by the infinite depth. Or, a neat round weaving made from all thrifted and recycled materials.
This woven wall hanging is the first of a 'Grunge' series, a love letter to our fellow misfits and gentle heretics. The series will be an ongoing collection of original weavings to welcome into your home and life as a reminder to push boundaries, live cusiously and stay wild.
This unique, original woven wall hanging is housed within an upcycled antique embroidery hoop that has the name 'Edelman' written in pen on the hoop (covered by the weaving but I'll include a photo). Featuring ripped denim and lace, recycled sari ribbon, thrifted hemp and a burgundy/teal cotton plaid as a border. I rip all the fabric into strips myself. I deconstruct all the clothing prior to weaving.
The weaving measures 14" in diameter with a 1" depth. Hanging hardware has been installed for your decorating ease.
Have a heart string connected to grunge and want to design your own weaving? Shoot me a message. If you have any other questions about this piece, another piece in my shop, or something you dreamed my shop door is always open.
"I wanna be strong, I wanna laugh along,
I wanna belong to the living.
Alive, alive, I want to get up and jive
I want to wreck my stockings in some jukebox dive.
Do you want to dance with me baby?"
Kill it with kindness and when in doubt, dance.
